The Ministries of Northwest Baptist Church center on our Mission Statement
which states, “Our purpose as a church is to glorify God by exalting Him in
worship, by equipping the believers for service, and by evangelizing the lost.
Psalm 150:2, Romans 15:9a, Ephesians 4:12, Colossians 1:10, 2 Peter 3:18,
Matthew 28:19-20”
Ministries of Preaching and Teaching:
The ministry of preaching and teaching the Word of God is the most
important ministry of the church. We make no apologizes for this stand.
This is true in all of the services from Sunday School, Sunday Morning and
Evening to Wednesday Night. We stand without apologize on the Word of
God.
Ministries for the Family:
One of our core beliefs of NWBC is that the family is very important to God.
And it is our desire that NWBC follow God’s teaching and is a “Place where
your family can grow!” In all of our services, you are welcome to sit as a
family. We do not tell you to send your children to a Sunday school class or
Jr. Church. You are the head of your family and prayerfully decide how to
handle this question.
Ministries of Sunday School:
We have Sunday school classes designed to help everyone either come to a
relationship with Jesus Christ or spiritually grow in their relationship with
Jesus Christ.
Most of our Sunday school classes, including adult classes, use material
from Regular Baptist Press.
Little Ones Ages 2-4
Readers Ages 5-10
Jr. High Ages 11-15
Women
Family
Nursery: We have a caring fully staffed nursery for newborn through Jr.
Church age.
Jr. Church: Our Jr. Church is for ages 4 and up and is dismissed
during the last congregational hymn in the Sunday morning service.
Wednesday: The most important part of Wednesday night is the
prayer time. Everyone meets at 6:30 (including children) to take prayer
requests. Then we divide into three groups: men, women, and children.
Once the men and women are done praying, we start our Bible Study. (We
do not stop praying so that we can start Bible study at 7:00 PM – prayer time
on Wednesday night is the important key).
Our children’s program on Wednesday night teaches the students to
memorize Scripture and learn hymns, which they present to the church in a
Sunday Morning worship service. They also learn about missionaries and
the difficult time they face on the field.
Our Bible study is more than a Sunday school class – Pastor normally gives
a written outline for each study and he allows discussion (questions) on
whatever topic or book we are studying.
Teen Camp/Junior Camp: We give parents the opportunity to send
there children 10 and up to camp. We take our kids to Camp on Wheels in
Alpine AZ, about 4 hours away from Albuquerque. To help with the cost of
camp, we have the kids work to raise money for camp, cleaning yards, car
washes, annual yard sale at the church.
Vacation Bible School: VBS one of our favorite ministries. We transform
our auditorium into whatever that year’s theme is. This is fun for the
students and the adults. It is a great outreach to the unsaved children in the
area and around the church member’s home.
Mother-Daughter Banquet – is the Friday night before Mother’s Day. The
men prepare a complete sit-down dinner for all the ladies. After the dinner,
the ladies are given a challenge from the Word of God as the men clean up.
This is also a great time to teach our young men and boys how to have a
servant’s heart.
Father’s Day Breakfast – is on Father’s Day during Sunday school time.
The ladies prepare a wonderful breakfast for our fathers.
4th of July picnic: We have a family picnic in the mountains every 4th
of July. This is a wonderful time of fellowship and encouragement to our
church family.
